Dear Mr. Smith:

Sir, I recently found your website and the material on it.  I have been greatly surprised at what I read.  Certainly you are well read and well versed in the scriptures.

Perhaps in your material the answer to my question is to be found but I wanted to ask you before I read any further.

From what I have read it would appear that when a person dies they are just that Dead, know nothing, feel nothing and don't go anywhere until the resurrection.

Question:  In the apostle Paul's writings I believe there is a phrase "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".  Certainly I have heard this said in many Sunday morning sermons.  How does this fit with what you have presented that when you die you know nothing, feel nothing and don't go anywhere until the resurrection?

I would appreciate an answer if you have time.  Thankyou

Marvin

Dear Marvin:

I likewise have heard this stated many many times. It is, however, an unscriptural statement.  Paul never ever said: "to be absent from the body   IS    to be present with the lord."

God be with you,

Ray
